HNHS Bloodborne Pathogens Training
Hospital Network Healthcare Services (HNHS) now offers Bloodborne Pathogens educational training based on the MIOSHA Bloodborne Infectious Diseases Standard, MIOSHA-STD-1209 regulations. It is designed for those who risk on-the-job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids. The course teaches how Bloodborne Pathogens are spread and how to avoid exposure. It will also explain what to do if exposed.
This program is designed to fulfill the requirements of the MIOSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Training. After taking this program be sure to talk to your employer about your site-specific policies and procedures.
The topics covered in the training include:
- Exposure Control Plan
- HIV
- HBV
- HCV
- Zika
Bloodborne Pathogens is pathogenic microorganisms present in human blood as well as other bodily fluids which can cause disease including but not limited to HIV, Hepatitis B Virus, and Hepatitis C Virus.
The training is required by MIOSHA and OSHA on an annual basis. Our educational program covers all of the requirements except the site-specific information. The program is a free online interactive training course for our Medical Waste Customers. Each individual will receive a certificate to verify they have finished the Bloodborne Pathogens educational program through HNHS.
